The Great Tusker

This image was taken in Amboseli National Park in Kenya.  When an elephant's tusks weigh in at over 100 lbs each they are referred to as a "Super Tusker".  Due to rampant poaching for these prized tusks, the Super Tusker population in the park may be down to the single digits.  I was lucky enough to encounter this bull during a safari in 2023.  While Amboseli is home to roughly 2000 elephants, seeing one of the iconic Tuskers may well be a once in a lifetime experience.
